Kreuzberg is another area enjoying a 'mini renaissance' all of
its own.

After The War it was largely abandoned by those who could afford
to move to more attractive areas and it became home to a mix of
varying cultures and activities. Today old buildings are being
revamped and new buildings springing up.

There is a strong Turkish influence and Kreuzberg
abounds with places to eat and drink alongside numerous small
galleries and theatres. It's around here that you'll find the
infamous 'Checkpoint Charlie' on the Berlin Wall and the architecturally
striking and innovative Jewish Museum.
